Exhibit at the Hollings Library displaying documents from the American Revolution

Video: Hot Takes on America's 250th

Roundtable of USC scholars discuss artifacts from the exhibit "Echoes of Independence"

Take a deep dive into the 250th anniversary of the United States of America with four USC scholars as they give their hot takes on artifacts from the University of South Carolina library's exhibit "Echoes of Independence: 250 Years of Remembrance and Memorialization."

Through lively discussion and debate, they explore topics like the connection between slavery and the American Revolution, the origin of "Southern food" as a category, the importance of learning to read archival documents and much more.

What do you lose by not coming to this exhibit? You lose a lot. It's not that you need it. It's not essential to your world. But, you're going to be impoverished if you don't come to see this... If you don't engage with this material, your experience of the past is going to be thinner, less accurate, and, frankly, less imaginative.
